In the news: Rare 1962 ice cream van will serve shoppers in Plymouth

Cobbles Van

A vintage ice cream van believed to be one of only a handful of its kind left in the world is to serve shoppers in Plymouth.

Cobbles Ices has relocated to Quay Square on Plymouth’s Sutton Harbour and the business has expanded after acquiring a classic 1962 Commer Karrier, one of the original Mister Softee ice cream vans.

The vintage van will be parked next to the harbour’s edge while the original Cobbles Ices van, a 1954 Morris JB, will be located outside the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop.

Michael’s former Cobbles Ices partner, Louise Creamer, will now be running her own business from a red 1953 original Vanguard trailer parked across Quay Square, with Creamers Street Baristas serving up freshly brewed coffee, hot doughnuts and tempting cakes.
